If there’s one thing that Fender are famous for it’s outstanding electric guitars. If there are two things then they’re outstanding electric guitars and confusing naming conventions! The Fender Player series is now what used to be known as the Mexican Standard models, offering Fender tone, feel and build quality at a more affordable price point than their American counterparts. This shredder’s dream Strat combines an alder body and maple neck with “modern C” profile, rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5” radius. There’s also a two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with bent-steel saddles for smooth vibrato and accurate intonation. The pickups have been upgraded for high-output shred tone with Warman humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions and a central single coil. The humbuckers offer a tight, punchy and powerful drive tone which absolutely slams and can also be merged with the middle single coil for a slightly less full but more dynamic voice. The already great range of humbucker tones available is also complimented by a push switch on the master volume control to split the humbuckers for single-coil sounds. This means that as well as full, throaty chugs and searing high gain solo tone you can also get a wide range of traditional snappy Strat single coil tones from this impeccably built instrument! The second tone control is a push pot as well. We’re not 100% sure how the circuit works on this one but it sounds like it adds a slight upper mid boost which enhances the chimeyness of the single coil Strat tones or can be used to switch between scooped mids for chugging and filling them back in for solos if you’re playing in high gain humbucker mode! If all that wasn’t enough, the cavity is also shielded so you can be sure that you won’t have any issues with electrical interference sounds when using the single coil settings. All in all this gorgeous guitar is an incredibly fun and versatile instrument which will enable you to tackle a huge range of genres and styles.
This awesome axxe is in generally good condition but does have quite a lot of small dings as well as a 2cm impact damage mark on the left side of the body. There are also some scratches to the back near the jack output and a scratch to the fretboard before the first fret. These are all purely cosmetic and do not affect tone or playability. If you’d like to plug in and rock out with this stonkingly good Strat then call in to Finale Guitar between 10-5 any day except Wednesday. Alternatively you can check out now to arrange affordable postage anywhere in the UK.
