This ultra-compact and incredibly lightweight Class AB amp head is engineered to capture the sound of the legendary ENGL Savage 120 high-gain amplifier, as used by Marty Freedman (Megadeth), Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore), Gary Holt (Exodus, Slayer) etc. It’s designed to recreate the iconic modern German rock sound, featuring fast response, enhanced headroom, and punchy dynamics, all in a compact 5-watt solid-state format. It offers plenty of volume for practice, recording, or small-scale jamming, yet remains suitable for a bedroom setting. For tonal shaping, the amp provides a versatile set of controls including independent knobs for Gain and Volume, allowing you to dial in everything from warm cleans to face melting high-gain, along with a 3-Band EQ for tonal tweaks. Connectivity is comprehensive for such a tiny unit. It features a standard 1/4″ instrument input and a dedicated 1/4″ speaker output that automatically adjusts its impedance to seamlessly work with cabinets between 4 – 16 Ohms. There’s also a built-in FX Loop (Send/Return), which allows for the proper placement of external time-based and modulation effects after the preamp. For personal practice, it includes a convenient headphone output which can also serve as a line out for connecting directly to a mixer or audio interface. Finally, an Aux In jack is provided, enabling you to plug in an external music player like a phone or tablet to play along with backing tracks.
These little mini amp heads are ludicrously good for their super-bargain price tag so call in between 10-5 Tuesday to Saturday to try them out or check out now to arrange speedy UK postage.
