We tried a whole range of smaller Chinese manufacturers and found Aiersi’s instruments to be consistently well built, good looking and very reasonably priced, so we’re very proud to continue to offer their beautifully made range of ukuleles!

The BU-77 Fretless Koa Bass Ukulele is a superb new addition to the range, offering quality construction and tone at a bargain price! It has a traditional koa body which has been chosen for its full bass response and sharp attack. The body is beautifully decorated with abalone and maple binding which really highlight the gorgeous grain of the wood. The koa body is paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fretless fingerboard. The fingerboard is inlaid with clear position markers and attractive abalone dot inlays which will enable you to easily find the correct pitches, even if you’re new to fretless U-bass. A smooth and stylish satin finish brings out the natural grain of the wood and feels fantastic under the hands.

This instrument is fitted with a very full sounding under-saddle pickup and a side-mounted preamp with three band EQ, volume control and built in tuner. This is extremely handy if you’re playing in environments with lots of background noise (ideal for ukulele groups or gigs!) and the preamp controls give you loads of tonal options without having to adjust your amplifier or nag the sound technician! The tuners are very precise and reliable and the instrument is strung with Aquila Thundergut strings which give a full sound with a classic “thunk”, similar to an upright double bass. All in all this is a superb sounding, looking and feeling ukulele bass at a truly unbeatable price!
