Cort G200SE Scarlet Red

It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of Cort intruments here at Finale Guitar. Cortek (Cort’s parent company) are a huge manufacturer who have been building guitars for brands like Squier, Ibanez and PRS SE since way back in the ’70s and all those years of guitar making pedigree shine through in their Cort branded guitars which combine the best elements from thousands of different electric guitar models. The G200SE is a brand new, limited edition line from them and pairs modern playability improvements with a hugely versatile HSS pickup setup and “throwback” vintage colour options for a mind-blowingly good electric guitar that will make life incredibly easy for beginners without breaking the bank.

The G200SE has a lightweight poplar body which gives a bright and snappy tone. The body is contoured for player comfort and won’t give you a back ache after long practice sessions! The roasted maple neck looks gorgeous and is finished in a silky smooth satin finish which allows players to slide around without friction. The vintage style 9.45″ fretboard radius feels superb for smooth bends and the classy black dot inlays mean you’ll never get lost mid solo. The vintage style 6-point floating tremolo feels smooth and snaps back to position quickly when released, offering excellent tuning stability and great player response. We also love the four bolt neck joint with inlaid bolts and a smoothly curved joint which gives you very easy access to the top frets. All in all this guitar feels premium and is incredibly fun to play.

Tonally, the G200SE is no slouch! The Cort Powersound pickups offer a massive range of tones thanks to their HSS configuration and 5 way selector switch. This lets you merge the classic Str@ocaster style neck and middle single coils for a range of pop, classic rock, funk and even jazzy clean tones. The bridge humbucker is a higher output affair which offers full, punchy mids and a truly epic rock tone as the drive gets cranked. This is perfect for meatier rock and metal tones or searing solos. The master volume and tone controls make it quick and easy for newer players to dial in the sound they’re looking for, without limiting the incredibly versatile tonal range of this awesome guitar.
