Shergold Telstar Standard ST14 LEFT HANDED – Champagne Gold

British brand Shergold has been around since 1968 but has recently been revived under the expert guidance of master electric guitar luthier Patrick James Eggle. The Telstar is one of their latest designs and offers a really classy combination of elements from T style, Thunderbird and Jag/master style offset guitar designs to create a superb looking and feeling instrument which is uniquely its own. It uses a Solid poplar body, which gives a clear, snappy tone and very light weight for player comfort. The body shape is subtley offset with a single cutaway and raised central section which looks awesome! We love the matching, painted headstock and Ibanez style chamfered, 4 bolt neck joint which makes high fret access very easy. The neck is made from maple with a laurel fretboard and feels slim and modern with a 16″ radius for comfort and playing speed. The fingerboard is set with gorgeous mother of pearl dot inlays. The electronics are quality too, with awesome sounding Page Filtersonic Humbuckers which give clear definition, warm, full mids and great sustain. These are combined with simple, effective master volume and tone controls and 3-way pickup selector for quick and easy tone dialling. There’s also a Hipshot style chrome bridge for great sustain with 6 individual saddles for precise intonation adjustment. All in all this is a superbly stylish guitar which offers incredible playing feel and iconic looks while not breaking the bank or the player’s back!
