Studio Ghibli Guitar tabs ?!

I wrote this arrangement while I was stuck on lockdown in Spain, which left me with a lot of unexpected free time! One of the things I enjoy but rarely have time to do is making guitar arrangements, so I decided to make some Studio Ghibli guitar tabs and release them for free.

Here’s my take on one of my favourite pieces of film soundtrack music, the theme from Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind, written by Joe Hisaishi. The film was directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released by Studio Ghibli in 1984. With apologies to Mr Hisaishi, a genius composer whose work I absolutely love, I have made some modifications to his original work in order to make the piece fairly easy to play. The original piece is in C minor and I have moved it to A for ease of playability. You can play it with a capo on the third fret if you’d like it to be in the original key.

And here is the original, played at the 25 years of Studio Ghibli concert in Budokan and conducted by the great Joe Hisaishi himself… beautiful.
