Turner Guitars was founded in 2000 by Terry Pack, an experienced luthier who later moved on to creating his own line of entirely hand built instruments. His aim was to produce ‘beautifully crafted instruments’ which readily compete with the best in the industry both in quality of materials used and also care and attention to detail during construction. Each guitar is made using the finest materials including solid spruce tops and carefully selected tonewood bodies, complemented with precise custom scalloped bracing. The company is based near Doncaster and is now run by local guitarist Dave Ryan who you can see in Finale Guitar every now and again!
The RB 20 has a unique lacewood round back which lends a certain sweetness to the tone with a warm, mid heavy sound. The spruce top gives brightness and clarity with great string separation. All our Turner guitars also come with bone nuts and saddles as standard rather than than the cheap plastic versions found on most guitars at this price point. This enhances sound transmission from the strings to the neck and body, giving greater sustain and clarity of tone. This guitar is beautifully built with attractive white binding and a beautiful rainbow finish faux abalone decoration around the edge of the body. The neck is very slim, which makes faster licks up the fretboard a lot easier to play and could also suit guitarists with shorter fingers! The guitar also has an under saddle pickup and AS4T pre-amp with a 3 band EQ and knobs for presence (brightness) and volume. These combine to give a faithful and well balanced recreation of the instrument’s tone when amplified. The pre-amp also has its own built in tuner.
All our Turner guitars are professionally setup and given fresh sets of Ernie Ball Earthwood strings, so you can guarantee your guitar will be ready to play straight out of the box. If you haven’t played a Turner before then we really recommend giving them a try! You really couldn’t hope to find a better sounding or playing brand new electro-acoustic guitar at this price point.
