Turner 65CE maple jumbo with hard case

Turner guitars are probably not a brand you’ve heard of, unless you’re from the Doncaster / Sheffield area and have had the good fortune to play one. Their guitars were designed by master luthier Terry Pack (who has since gone on to great heights with his outstanding hand built instruments sold under his own name) and are made in China to an extremely high standard at astoundingly reasonable prices. The company is very small and based in Doncaster where they have flown under the radar for a good number of years now, but we really think they’re one of the best kept secrets in quality, affordable guitar building and well worth checking out!

This awesome jumbo bodied guitar is a shining example of everything we love about Turner guitars. Its attractive flame maple body has a solid spruce top which is very nicely finished with attractive abalone decorations and tasteful cream binding. The tonewoods used are well selected and give an impeccable sound, with a well balanced tone with clear fundamentals thanks to the maple back and sides and a bright, clear top end thanks to the solid spruce top. The jumbo dimensions also give this guitar plenty of bass (more so than you’d expect from maple) so it really is a very versatile machine with a tone well above its price point. The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard and has been professionally set up for a pleasantly low action and restrung with Ernie Ball Earthwood strings (medium light gauge, 12s). Both the nut and saddle are bone which gives superior tone transfer and sustain to cheaper plastic offerings and has been hand shaped for accurate, reliable intonation across the fretboard. There’s also an on-board Fishman pickup and pre-amp with built in tuner and volume and tone controls which combine for a reliable and full recreation of this instrument’s superb tone when amplified. All in all if you’re looking for an obscenely good value electro-acoustic guitar which can handle strumming, fingerpicking or recording with sonic style then this could be perfect for you!

This outstanding jumbo electro-acoustic is generally in great condition apart from a few minor dings which can be seen in the photos. There is no major fret wear. It also comes with a Turner white gator-skin effect hard case which is really cool in its own right and will look great while protecting your guitar from bumps and scrapes!
