Shure’s PG58 offers a cheaper alternative to their iconic SM58, probably the most popular vocal microphone out there. In terms of spec the PG58 is fairly similar, with a cardioid response pattern meaning that the singer in front of the microphone will be amplified but the other musicians around the back and sides won’t. The PG58 can pick up frequencies from 60hz right up to 15kz, meaning it will faithfully reproduce everything from bass drums to triangles! It also has a slight boost to the upper mid frequencies needed to make vocals sound clear and bright in a mix. The construction quality is very solid as you’d expect from such a well established brand as Shure, meaning that you’ll be able to gig with this microphone again and again and again without any problems. It’s also got a handy on/off switch on the side, just in case you don’t want the audience to hear you talking to the band! Another thing we like about this microphone is its 300 ohm impedance output which means that signal integrity will be maintained even if running through a very long cable… Perfect for gigs on big stages or karaoke in your nan’s garden!
This microphone has been lightly used but has been cleaned and works perfectly. It comes with an XLR cable to connect it to most standard mixers (can swap for an XLR to jack on request) and its original leather carry bag. If you’d like to get your hands on it then call in to Finale Guitar between 10-5 any day except Wednesday or check out now to arrange affordable postage anywhere in the UK.
