Made at the Wildwood factory, Korea, in 2012, this PRS SE Angelus Standard is a treat for the eyes, the ears and the hands! The body is fairly compact, sitting somewhere between a 000 and a dreadnaught but with a slightly wider than average lower bout which enhances bass response without making the guitar uncomfortably large for the smaller framed player! It’s beautifully constructed with a close grained sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides which combine for a powerful tone with lots of clear, high harmonics and a punchy, and well-balanced low end. The mahogany neck has the classic PRS headstock shape and the rosewood fingerboard is beautifully inlaid with birds in flight. The bone nut is slightly thinner than average which makes for easy stretches when fretting complicated chords! The saddle is also bone, which enhances sustain, and compensated for flawless intonation all the way up the fretboard. There’s also an onboard pickup and pre-amp with tuner, 3 band EQ and feedback eliminating notch filter. This sounds absolutely great when amplified, faithfully reproducing the exquisitely balanced tone of this guitar!
This beautiful instrument is in excellent condition apart from a very small ding on the headstock, a minor scratch below and to the left of the soundhole and some minor scratches to the rear of the body as you’d expect on a second hand guitar. It also comes with a PRS hard case, which is in great condition apart from some stickers!
