PRS 1957-2008 Custom 24 quilt-10 top (signed) with case

This is an extremely rare guitar, number 237 of only 350 ever made across all colour options. In fact, it’s so special that Paul Reed Smith himself has signed and numbered it by hand! The main unique feature of this run was that in 2008 PRS managed to track down the machine used by Gibson to make the wire for the original PAF pickups of 1958-60, and set out to make “Really great recreations of those early pickups with what we felt were some improvements in consistency, clarity, and tone”. These harmonically rich and silky smooth pups are also fitted with a coil tap option (controlled by a push/pull pot on the master tone knob) and paired with a solid mahogany body, quilt-10 carved maple top, mahogany set neck and rosewood fretboard with 24 super jumbo frets.

This all combines for a truly awesome tone! The pickups use alnico II magnets for a smooth, harmonically rich, vintage sound with a medium output, perfect for blues or classic rock. They also clean up beautifully and really sing on the bridge setting for crystal clear solos with just a little drive. The neck is beautifully decorated with the usual PRS birds, outlined in Paua inlay. The hardware has also been lovingly and tastefully upgraded, with a hand inlaid, US-made rosewood truss rod cover with paua dove inlay (perfectly matched to the fretboard) plus rosewood selector tip and pickups housings (these are not currently on the guitar but are included in the sale). Cosmetically this guitar is in mint condition other than some very slight aging of the pickups. There is next to zero fret wear. It also comes with its fitted 57/08 hard case and all of its original case candy.

You will probably never get another chance to play another 57/08 and it really is a treat for all the senses!
