These unashamedly-made-in-China electric guitar amps are a great starting point for beginner guitarists who want to crank the volume a little while practicing! They have simple controls, with two channels, clean and gain, which both run into a three band EQ which allows you to shape the overall tone with bass, middle and treble controls. The gain channel has a “crunch” knob which allows you to add gain for distortion and a post-gain volume control which means you can get the crunchy distortion tone of your dreams at a neighbour-friendly volume if you so desire! If your neighbours are REALLY stringent they have a headphone output so you can practice in complete silence if you need to, with all the amp’s tone emulated on your headphones. They also have an auxiliary input, allowing you to plug in your phone or MP3 player in order to play along with backing tracks (or just use them as a handy portable speaker). They are powered by a single 8” speaker which does surprisingly well at creating a good, loud guitar tone. Of course it doesn’t have the volume or clarity of tone of a larger speaker, so please factor this into your purchase decision- this is not a performance amp, but a beginner home practice amp with a little more oomph than a 10 or 15w version.
