Fender Japan were always ahead of the technological curve when designing their electric and bass guitars and this gorgeous bass is no exception.
The maple neck plays like a 70s Jazz bass- it’s very slim with a slight taper as you move up the fretboard. There’s also a micro-tilt adjuster for perfect action and intonation without the need for shims! This is such a great feature we don’t know why it isn’t on more Fender guitars and basses. There’s also a high mass bridge for great tone and sustain, in a gold finish to match the tuners. The saddles are reassuringly chunky, and the string end retainers are designed for quick restringing. There are extra contours on the body and neck join for further playing comfort.
The lightweight body is perfect for stage acrobatics, long rehearsals, or for those with bad backs. Great for gigging and made to look subtle around the house and sparkly under lights!
This beautiful lightweight stage bass has been played in but there is no major cosmetic damage and it’s in outstanding condition considering that it’s over 30 years old! There are a few minor dings here and there- please see the closeups. Fretwear is minimal and generally it plays and sounds great. It’s also been set up in store for a comfortably low playing action and perfect intonation across the fretboard.
