Made in Mexico in 2013, this is an incredibly cool and utterly unusual take on the classic Fender Stratocaster. Fender describe their Pawnshop range as “guitars that never were but should have been” and the Pawnshop Strat Deluxe is certainly no exception! For one-of-a-kind tonal versatility, its alder body houses a Telecaster single-coil neck pickup and a fearsome Enforcer Wide Range humbucking bridge pickup with smaller chrome cover. Other distinctive features include a “U”-shaped maple neck with 22 medium jumbo frets, 9.5″ radius and “bullet” truss rod; four-ply white pearloid pickguard; three-way blade pickup switching and two Jazz Bass control knobs (volume, tone). There’s also a classic ’70s-style hard-tail Stratocaster bridge and vintage-style “F” tuners. We love the iconically ’70s looking “yin/yang” style pickguard and the slimmed down take on the usual body shape and the maple neck feels absolutely fantastic!
This awesome oddball looks and feels incredible and sounds it too with a huge range of tones available. Cosmetically it’s in near mint condition apart from some light scratches to the back, one ding of around 4mm to one side near the jack output and one or two other smaller dings to the body. It also comes with a tweed hardcase (made by Fame) to protect it from any further damage!
