Just a quick post this week- I made these diagrams a while ago for my students to use and thought I’d put them on here to help you learn the mode shapes! Feel free to download them, print them etc.
I have shown all the modes which contain the notes of a G major scale (G,A,B,C,D,E,F#) but of course these shapes can all be moved around the neck to provide any desired mode. The root notes are marked in red.
You can learn a lot more about what the modes are and how they work in this blog, or get an Amazing Mode Wheel to quickly and easily memorise which modes contain the same notes, which shapes can be used together, which chords fit in which modes and lots lots more.
